Ryan grew up in Independence, Iowa and graduated from the University of Iowa; double-majoring in Communications Studies and Political Science. He is employed with Global Atlantic Financial Group as an Operations Risk Senior Analyst. Ryan has also previously served as the Board Chair/President for the Ankeny Young Professionals, Ankeny Jaycees, Ankeny Kiwanis Charitable Foundation, and as State Treasurer of the Iowa Jaycees. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, fishing, hiking, trying new restaurants, attending concerts, reading, participating in church activities, and volunteering in the community.
